Role Overview
As a Coach, you will be instrumental in guiding and supporting learners to achieve their personal and educational goals. Your role will involve delivering high-quality coaching sessions, fostering a positive learning environment, and working collaboratively with colleagues to enhance learner outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and group coaching sessions tailored to the individual needs of learners.
- Support learners in developing skills, confidence, and motivation to succeed in their education and future careers.
- Monitor and review learner progress, providing constructive feedback and support plans.
- Collaborate with teaching staff, support services, and external partners to create a cohesive learner support network.
- Maintain accurate records of coaching sessions and learner progress in line with college policies.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of coaching strategies and learner engagement initiatives.
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of coaching and learner interaction.
- Participate in professional development activities to keep coaching practices current and effective.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in a coaching, mentoring, or learner support role, preferably within the education sector.
- Relevant coaching qualifications or certifications (e.g., Level 3 Award in Coaching, ILM qualifications) are desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and motivate learners.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload effectively.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, equality, and diversity principles.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by learners in further education and the ability to provide tailored support.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced educational environment.
